Mention Vinavil in Italy and the response would rival the same in the US if you were to bring up Elmer’s Glue. The Italian version is better, more fluid, perfect for drawing. And that is what I did for a commission to create pieces inspired by 18th & 19th Century brocades and damask fabrics. Once the white glue is completely dried, markers and/or oil pastels can render the design colourful and in relief. After the fabrics studies were finished, I took to creating 2-D fantasy designs like mini-abstracts, from hard edged to explosions of form and colour.
